Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or case number entered in a search box is sent directly to the outside company operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. Wood County Court Docket does not retain or log those search terms.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email is retained as needed to prepare a response. Messages remain within the operating team unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
A page request can automatically provide the servers with technical information about the visit:
- The IP address assigned to your device
- Which browser you are using and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
- The site that sent you here, if any
- Timestamps for each page view
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small device files used to understand traffic patterns, popular pages, and where visits end. Analytics providers combine this information into usage reports. Browser controls can block cookies, although doing so may change how some functions perform.
What We Do With This Data
- Keeping the site up, running, and loading quickly
- Sending your search requests to the right partner service
- Figuring out which pages people find useful and which need work
- Tracking down and fixing technical issues
- Showing ads that may line up with your interests
No Court-Record Data on File
Wood County Court Docket neither hosts nor sells a database of court dockets or personal case records. It publishes directions to WCCA, the Wood County Clerk of Circuit Court, and courts that maintain the official material. It is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA, and visitor information is not assembled into a consumer report about another person. Wisconsin Public Records Law, Wis. Stat. §§19.31-19.39, applies to government custodians, while SCR Chapter 72 addresses court-record retention. Neither rule makes this private resource the custodian of Wood County files.
Third-Party Search Partners
Independent companies power the search boxes. A query submitted through one of those tools is governed by that company privacy policy, retention rules, and sharing terms. Review those terms before entering information because this policy does not control a partner service.
Links to Other Websites
Links lead to court, clerk, statewide search, legal resource, and commercial partner pages. Once a visitor follows an external link, the destination privacy policy controls. Review it before providing personal information.
Certain advertising partners may track your activity across sites to show targeted ads. That tracking runs on their systems, not ours.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be disclosed to:
- Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
- Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
- Ad networks that place ads on our pages
- Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable technical and administrative safeguards are used for collected data. No internet system can guarantee complete security, so protection against every breach cannot be promised.
Users Under 18
The service is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. Data known to have been submitted by a minor will be deleted.
Your Data Rights
Rights can vary by residence and applicable law. Wisconsin Public Records Law, Wis. Stat. §§19.31-19.39, governs access to government records but does not turn this private resource into a records custodian. Subject to applicable privacy law, a visitor may:
- Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
- Have us fix information that is wrong
- Request that we erase your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised as practices or legal duties change. A revised version becomes available here with its new effective date, so visitors should review it from time to time.
Effective date: September 7, 2026
